There truly aren't words to describe how much I love this movie. It is always entertaining. Also spot on with the goofy shit people think high-schoolers will respond to and the fascination with romanticizing death. I also love that it's about getting the bad boy, realizing what a horrid, destabilizing effect he's having on your life, not being able to tear yourself away, and finally getting over him. Explosively. SO much love. Ah the days when Winona Ryder and Christian Slater were young and beautiful and we hadn't really started making fun of them.

I really wish I'd seen it when I was a teen. I think I might love it, if that were the case. But it has no nostalgic value for me and even gets a bit tiresome when I watch it :(

A pretty good flick, but whoa is this thing over-praised by everyone who first saw it when they were teens. My expectation bar was set way too high and I found myself mostly disappointed in it. The mean-spirited humor his nice, but I don't really see why everyone thinks this movie is so special.

I can agree it is over praised, but it was a departure for its time. I think it a great parody.

It contains a favorite movie quote of mine, "I love my dead gay son." Which in and of its self is volumes of commentary.

In addition, I have actually said to people I do not like and wish would go away, "I would rather lunch with Veruca Salt and Veronica Sawyer" and have them actually leave me alone. Sometimes they get it, some times they do not.
